Step-by-Step: Milk Sensor / Steam Probe Wire Replacement
Power Down & Prep
Unplug the machine. Remove the water tank, bean hopper, and drip tray.
Remove Base Screws
Undo the five Phillips screws underneath to release the two side/bottom panels.

Free the Sensor Board
Remove the four screws holding the milk sensor board.

Remove the Sensor Cover
Lift off the plastic sensor cover to expose the assembly.

Release the Assembly
Remove the rubber boot and spring holding the sensor assembly in place.

Unclip the Cable
Disconnect the sensor board cable to fully release the board.

Replace the Broken Sensor Wire
Remove the damaged wire and thread the new one through the same path. A small screwdriver helps guide it neatly.

Align the Jug Sensor Pads
Critical: When refitting the board, ensure the three jug sensor pads align perfectly with the contacts or you’ll get jug placement errors.
Tip: Keep the pads centred; don’t overtighten initially — seat, check alignment, then snug down.

Avoid Twists to Prevent ER07 / ER08
Route the new wire without twists or sharp bends. Twisted or pinched wires commonly trigger ER07 or ER08.

Reassemble Carefully
Hold the triangular piece in place while refitting screws, then reinstall the spring and rubber boot, followed by the three covers.

Troubleshooting After Reassembly
- Still shows ER05: Recheck cable connection and wire continuity; confirm pad alignment.
- ER07 / ER08: Re-route to remove twists; ensure the wire isn’t pinched; reseat the board connector.
- Jug not detected: Loosen board screws, re-centre pads, then retighten evenly.
