Technician Notes

Before buying, it is worth checking whether the steam boiler element itself is healthy. If the house fuse is tripping and you do not have any major leaks, there is a good chance the boiler itself has failed and no repair kit will save it.

If the thermal fuse has blown, always replace the thermal switch as well. A blown fuse means the switch failed to protect the boiler properly, and this is not a job you want to repeat.
